Dem Campaign Chatter 10-12-2008

Today, Obama is in Oregon, Ohio - this is a town near Toledo. Biden is in Scranton, Pennsylvania and will be joined by former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton. Maryland for Obama continues this weekend with their "Drive for Change" canvassing as volunteers meet in a dozen locations in the state to travel to neighboring battleground states; Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, McCain tries again with some new economic proposals - seems no one understood his hastily announced government buy out of troubled homeowner mortgages so he will try to explain again. Also count on him to propose the traditional Republican reduction of the capital gains tax. Politico.com has more here. It's no wonder, more voters are saying McCain just doesn't get it.

European Leaders meet today in Paris to continue economic talks - this follows the meeting yesterday in Washington D.C. - where cooperation was promise but no details released on how they planned to work together to stem the economic crisis. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) warns that we on the the verge of a global economic meltdown. Reuters.com has more here.
