It is being reported that Democrat New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson will announce he is withdrawing from the race to be the Democratic Party nominee for President.
AP announced this earlier this evening and MSNBC was reporting that his campaign was denying this and intended to continue in the race. Now CNN http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/09/richardson.out/index.html
and the Baltimore Sun are also reporting and quoting sources close to the Richardson campaign.
He was a favorite of mine from the beginning due to his foreign policy experience along with his executive experience as Governor. I had predicted in my latest posts that he would stay in the race through Nevada and then drop out due to his failure to raise any significant funds and two consecutive fourth place finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Perhaps after Obama picked up the endorsements from the Culinary Workers and the SEIU in Nevada he realized he should not stay in the race. I predict that if he endorses another Democratic candidate, it will be Clinton. It has long been rumored he would like to be her Vice-President running mate.
