The excitement we all are feeling and the buzz surrounding the Democratic candidates running for President has made it difficult for many to focus on the 6th District congressional race in Maryland.
This is a race where the Democratic candidate will be nominated in just five weeks on February 12th when Maryland holds it's primary election. Republican incumbent Roscoe Bartlett has served eight ineffective terms and it is past time to send him into retirement. He has opposition in the Republican primary but is expected to win easily.
Here is an opportunity to go see your Democratic candidates and root them on!
The Carroll County League of Women Voters is sponsoring this Debate.
When: Wednesday January 9th
Time: Begins at 6:00 PM but I have been told the congressional debate will start at 8:00 PM and last until 9:00 PM (Supposedly, they have an earlier Bd. of Education Debate)
Where: Carroll County Community College - Scott Auditorium 1601 Washington Road, Westminster, Maryland.
The Democratic candidates are Andrew Duck who was the Democratic Party nominee in 2006, Robin Diebert from Fairplay, Jennifer Dougherty who was a former one-term mayor of the City of Frederick, Rick Lank from Middletown, and Larry Smith from Cumberland.
