After Senator John Kerry (Mass.) suffered from the "Swift Boat" attacks in the 2004 election, Democrats realized the importance of a rapid response to negative and misleading Ads.
The latest example is the McCain-Palin Ad first run yesterday and entitled "Original Mavericks". Click on the name to watch. The problem is they are stretching the truth in what they say in this Ad.
With the usual post convention bounce placing the McCain-Palin ticket in a virtual tie in the polls with Obama-Biden, the Obama-Biden campaign quickly responded with an Ad of their own.
The Obama-Biden Ad is entitled "No Maverick". Click on the name to watch. They point out that many advisers to McCain are former lobbyists, McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time and Palin was for the Alaska "bridge to nowhere" before she was against it. The Ad ends by saying "... Politicians lying about their record is hardly change, it's more of the same".
Stay Tuned, for there is surely more to come.
