With only four months to go, Senator McCain makes changes in his campaign staff. Steve Schmidt will be taking over the daily operations replacing Rick Davis. Davis will stay with the campaign, reportedly to help in the VP selection and planning the convention. Schmidt managed the reelection campaign for California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. They will put a lot of positive spin out there today about this reorganization of the campaign. However, what it means is influential Republicans are not satisfied with the message being delivered by the McCain campaign. Pay attention to future press releases to see what impact this shift in management will have on the campaign. In this case, no matter how much shine you put on it, the McCain message is still wrong for Americans.
