More Crazy Economic News - while the price for oil dropped and the Dow gained 277 points yesterday, the national deficit and debt remain at outrageous levels. The projected deficit, just for this year alone is well over 410 Billion. The national debt sits at 9.5 Trillion - how much is a trillion anyway? TheHill.com has more here.

Obama campaign raises 52 million in June - this comes after some early predictions of a only 30 million month. His campaign now has 72m cash on hand. The McCain campaign with the RNC have a combined 95m cash on hand. Notice the DNC has no money to aid the effort. Regardless, of the DNC's inability to raise funds, these figures are astonishing. 12:02 PM update - DNC announces it raised 22m in June. So their 22m with the Obama campaign 72m puts them even with McCain and the RNC. With estimates of a 500m price tag for the general election, it is time for serious campaign finance reform that leads to publicly funded campaigns. CNN.com has more here.
