Obama Weekly Address

President Obama focused on the economy in this weekly address. He acknowledged the recovery has been slow and stressed it will continue to take time. He vowed to work with the private sector to create jobs.

For two years, I have been calling for a federal public service employment program - it is long overdo. When, the president meets with his jobs council on Monday, I trust this will be among the new initiatives announced. It would put folks back to work in areas where lay-offs and job loses have been the greatest.
