Romney Makes it Official Today -
the former Massachusetts Governor will announce his presidential campaign at noon in Stratham, New Hampshire. He will blast President Obama on his handling of the economy and talk about how is is better suited to handle economic challenges. You can read some excerpts from his speech here.

Meanwhile, Palin continues to tease everyone with a presidential bid. She is also in New Hampshire today, as part of her "One Nation" northeast tour.

Unemployment Rate Key To Presidential Outcome -
The NY Times has a good read on how no president since FDR has won reelection with an unemployment rate above 7.2% on Election Day. This shows the difficulty President Obama faces in his run for a second term. You can read more here.

Democrats Want Warren To receive Recess Appointment -
the more liberal wing of the Democratic Party is calling on President Obama to appoint Elizabeth Warren as the head of the new Consumer Protection Finance Bureau. The agency was created with the passage of the finance reform act last year. Republicans have been firmly opposed to her appointment and she would never receive confirmation in the senate as a result. TPM.com has more here.

Weiner Photos Still In The News -
seems the lack of credible explanation of how the photo of Representative Anthony Weiner (NY), in his underwear from the waist down, appeared on Twitter, is keeping the story alive. The photo was addressed to a college student who had signed onto the Twitter page. She has stated she does not know the Congressman. Weiner's ultra liberal viewpoints make this story fodder for Republicans. The Washington Post has more here.

U.S. and Pakistan To Form Anti-Terrorism Squad -
following Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Pakistan in the wake of the Osama bin Laden killing, the two countries are announcing a new joint intelligence effort. AP has more here.
