Unemployment Up Slightly to 9.1% -
at the end of May. The increase from 9% due to less job growth than expected. Not a good sign as jobs traditionally expand over the summer months. The Wall Street Journal has more here. Look to see the stock market take a hit today.

Obama Heads To Toledo To Tout Auto Rebound -
In Ohio today, the president will talk about how the federal assistant to the auto industry helped fuel the rebound which allowed Chrysler to repay it's loan early. AP has more here.

Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke in Spotlight -
as the economy continues to sputter, what else can the central bank do is the question? With interest rates as low as they can go and the Fed purchasing 600 billion in Treasury Bonds last year, the options are few. TheHill.com has more here.

Obama and Democrats Meet at White House -
yesterday, in a frank exchange of ideas, the president said "failure is not an option" when discussing the raising of the debt ceiling. What followed was a serious exchange of ideas from Democratic leaders on the Hill in regard to cuts in spending. FirstRead.com has a good list of the comments made here.

Edwards Indictment Expected Today -
plea agreement talks with the Justice Department have broken down and a grand jury in North Carolina is expected to indict former Vice president candidate John Edwards today. The charges will be in regard to payment of "hush" money to Rielle Hunter with whom Edwards was having an affair. The Washington Post has more here.

House To Vote on Libya Resolutions Today -
both deal with the requirement for the president to obtain approval from Congress in an act of war. Democrat liberal Representative Dennis Kucinich (Ohio) wants to end U.S. military operations in Libya. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will propose the president provide more details to Congress within 14 days on the cost and the level of involvement. The NY Times has more here.

Republican Presidential Candidate Debate to be Held in New Hampshire -
the first of what will surely be many debates during the primary campaign. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum will participate in the June 13 debate on the campus of Saint Anselm College. CNN.com has more here.
