President Obama stumping for Democrats today -
this afternoon, the president will be in Maryland at a rally at Bowie State to support Governor Martin O'Malley. O'Malley is facing Republican former Governor Robert Ehrlich in a rematch of the 2006 election won by O'Malley.

Tonight, the president will be in Illinois, to show his support for Alex Giannoulias, who is running for U.S. Senate. The Chicago Tribune has more here.

Unemployment claims drop 11,000 last week -
this is the lowest since early July. However, unemployment remains at a 26 year high. Bloomberg.com has more here.

Rubio, Meek, and Crist debate in race for Senate seat -
Marco Rubio,a far right conservative has a commanding lead in this race with moderates and the left splitting the remaining votes between Democratic candidate Kendrick Meek and new Independent Governor Charlie Crist. Politico.com has more here.

The only way Rubio gets beat at this point is if either Meek or Crist drop out and endorse the other.

O'Donnell falls way behind in Delaware Senate race - after. her surprise victory in the Republican primary, Christine O'Donnell, a "tea party" favorite, has cut a campaign ad, starting off with "I am not a Witch". Not a good idea,as recent polls have her 17 and 19 points behind Democrat Chris Coons. MSNBC.com has more here.

John Edwards investigation hits the news cycle -
the former Democratic vice-president candidate and candidate for president in the 2008 election is being investigated for payments received by his mistress; Rielle Hunter. Subpoenas are now being issued. CNN.com has more here.
