Sunday Morning "Talking Heads" 12-7-2008

George Wenschhof Bio

Sunday is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor and President-elect Barack Obama will hold a press conference at the Chicago Hilton at 2:00 PM ET. He will speak of the contributions the many in the military have given over the years.

Expect more talk today on economic and foreign policy issues. Will Congress act to bailout the big three automakers? Also, the recent terrorist acts in Mumbai, India and their implications in the region will be discussed.

The next round of appointments by President-elect Obama may receive attention as he has yet to announce who will be Secretary of Education, Labor, and Energy. Who is rumored for Director of CIA and National Intelligence is another possible topic.

Here is the lineup - check your local listings for the time in your area.

NBC "Meet The Press" - Tom Brokaw will interview Barack Obama. Brokaw and NBC made it known after the death of Tim Russert that Brokaw would be an interim moderator. It looks like the full time replacement will be David Gregory. Gregory is only 38, but has been involved in politics and news for some time. He is currently the Host for "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" on MSNBC airing M-F at 6:00 PM ET. Politico.com has more on this story here.

CBS "Face The Nation" - Bob Schieffer will have Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) who is chair of the Senate Banking Committee, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Al.) who is on the Senate Budget Committee, and Tom Friedman, NY Times columnist.

ABC "This Week" - George Stephanopoulos will interview Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice who has just returned from a diplomatic mission to India and Pakistan. Also appearing will be United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger.

The roundtable discussion will include panelists; George Will, Peggy Noonan, EJ Dionne, and Cokie Roberts.

Fox News Sunday - Chris Wallace also has Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. He also interviews Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and Richard Shelby (R-AL).

CNN "Late Edition" - Wolf Blitzer has Governors Tim Pawlenty (R-Minn.) and Ed Rendell (D-PA).
