Obama's Grandmother Dies

The woman he credited with helping to raise him has died of cancer. You may recall, he took off a few days from the campaign recently to visit her. It was obviously a good decision and he will be always glad he took the time to visit her. The reports at the time were that she was in critical condition but her illness was not disclosed other than she was suffering from several ailments including a recent broken hip.

Barack Obama and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng issued a short statement today on the passing of Madelyn Dunham (86), the woman Michelle said Barack liked to call Toot, short for Tutu or Grandmother. You can read more here.
