MD Senate Minority Leader Brinkley and the Rumor mill

PolitickerMD.com is reporting rumors swirling around a domestic incident last weekend at the home of Senate Minority Leader David Brinkley. David Brinkley is the Republican State Senator representing District 4 which includes the northern parts of Frederick County and Carroll County. The rumors pertain to an alleged extramarital affair, with early speculation that if the rumors are true, he would be replaced as minority leader. Read more here.

State Senator Brinkley has received bipartisan support and respect from the voters in his district over the years. Some have speculated he would be the Republican candidate to replace 6th District Congressman Roscoe Bartlett when he retires. There is surely more to this story so stay tuned.

9:15 PM ET Update PolitickerMD.com is reporting Brinkley may resign his position as minority leader as early as tomorrow and address personal issues. It is rumored Allan Kittleman who is the Senate Minority Whip would be named as his replacement. Read more here.

The bigger the tree - the louder the fall - it's a juicy bit to hear and it feels like justice - imo he never contributed any great ideas or supported the right causes anyway - good riddance!
