Congress back in session - but don't loo for a lot of action with only seven weeks prior to the mid term elections. What to do with the former Bush administration tax cuts scheduled to expire at the end of the year will receive some talk but do not expect a vote until after the November 2 election. The Washington Post has more here.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is considering adjourning the House a week early so members can go home to campaign.

Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New York Primaries tomorrow - in Delaware, watch the Republican U.S. Senate race with tea party favorite Christine O'Donnell locked in a close battle with Mike Castle. The winner will most likely face Democratic candidate Chris Coons.
In New Hampshire, Republican Senate hopefuls are again locked in a struggle between Ovide LaMontagne and Kelly Ayotte.
The Republican Governor race in New york is also interesting with long time favorite Rick Lazio facing defeat by Carl Paladino. The winner will face Andrew Cuomo.
Maryland has little drama with Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley expected to face former Republican Governor Bob Ehrlich. It will be interesting to see how many votes tea party favorite Brian Murphy (R) receives, who ran on a "time to get tough on immigration" platform. Doubtful, Murphy will be very successful in the Blue state of Maryland. But, he could do well in several of the more conservative counties located on the eastern shore and in western Maryland.

Latest Gallup poll shows Only Finance Reform receives support from Americans - out of five major bills passed by Congress over the last 18 months. Financial regulatory reform received support by a 61-37% margin. The unpopular Bail-Out bill weighed in at only 37% support with 61% opposed, the Stimulus bill has only 43% approval with 52% opposed, aid to the auto industry received 43% approval with 56% opposed and Healthcare received only 39% approval with 56% opposed. Gallup.com has more here.
Other than the bail-out bill which was passed at the end of the George W. Bush administration, the rest are Obama administration signature bills. This voter sentiment clearly shows the problems facing Democrats up for election in November.
