Obama To Make Statement on Budget Today - expected to come at 1:05 PM ET, from the White House, the President will talk about the looming fiscal cliff.  Look to see him continue to call for an end to the tax cuts to the wealthy and for a continuation of the middle class tax cuts.

This comes a day after House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) made conciliatory comments in regard to a compromise agreement.

Washington State Passes Same-Sex Marriage - Referendum 74 narrowly passed helping the state of Washington join Maryland, Minnesota and Maine as states who passed same sex laws in the 2012 General Election.  The Senate also ushered in its first openly-gay senator, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.  You can read more here.
