Thousands Protest Russian Vote - the just held Parliamentary elections which resulted in the Vladimir Putin United Russia Party losing their two-thirds majority is marred with charges of ballot stuffing and election fraud.
Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev is calling for new elections. The united Russia party won less than 50% of the seats and the protesters believe the number should be even less. You can read more here.

France and Germany Pledge Strong Financial Deal - this week as the European Union meets to address the eurozone financial crisis. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner expressed confidence a deal would be reached. Reuters.com has more here.

Republican Jewish Coalition Holds Candidate Forum - Republican presidential hopefuls will attend and give speeches during the day long forum. Representative Ron Paul (Tex.) will not be in attendance and it is unlikely Herman Cain who had previously accepted an invitation will attend due to his suspension of his campaign. Obama to Speak at Reformed Jews Meeting Next Week - the Union of Reform Judaism announced President Obama will speak as will Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) will also attend. The NY Times Caucus.com has more here.

DSCC Chair Murray Endorses Two In 2012 Primary - Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) waded in early to endorse Rep. Mazie Hirono over former Rep. Ed Case in the Hawaii Democratic primary. Murray also endorsed Rep. Christopher Murphy in the Connecticut primary. Both are open seats.
Democrats currently hold a slim majority in the Senate. In 2012, Democrats will defend 23 seats and Republicans have only 10 seats up for election. Stay tuned.... RollCall.com has more here.

O'Malley Reelected Chair of DGA - as expected Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley was reelected to chair the Democratic Governors Association. Eleven Governors races will be held next year and eight of them are presently held by Democrats. The Baltimore Sun has more here.
