according to the latest Nielson ratings. Only 5.4 million watched the Republican presidential candidate debate. You can read more here.

Yikes! Republican Bob Turner Takes Lead in NY Special Election -
a Siena College poll released today has Turner in front and Roll Call is now rating the race a toss up. Replacing disgraced Democratic Representative Anthony Weiner was suppose to be an easy task for Democrats. But, Democrat David Weprin is trailing by 6 points according to this latest poll. Voter turnout on Tuesday will be the key to this election.

Tensions Rise Between Israel and Egypt -
thousands of Egyptians stormed the Israeli Embassy in Cairo and Israel airlifted their ambassador home. Protesters are upset by the killing of Egyptian border guards by Israeli troops pursued militants who had attacked a resort town in Israel. The Washington Post has more here.

President Obama spoke with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about security issues pertaining to the incident.

Meanwhile, talks between Palestinian Authority President Abbas and President Obama have cooled. The NY Times has a good read here.
