in more bad news for the president, a Quinnipiac poll shows Obama's approval rating in Florida to be 44%. However, he leads ties Romney 44%-44% and leads Perry 44%-39%. Florida is a must win state for Obama in 2012. You can read more here.

Appropriations Bill next battle for Congress -
just when you think the squabbling on the budget on Capitol Hill is done, guess what? Appropriations need to be passed by September 30. And, the House does not return from vacation until September 7. Who will Be Members of Debt Ceiling Committee? -
as I reported earlier, keep an eye focused on the members hip of the committee. The 12 member committee will consist of three members appointed by Nancy Pelosi (D-Calf.), John Boehner (R-Ohio), Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

In all likelihood, an impasse could easily be the result, which would cause the trigger mechanism to be used. TheHill.com has an analysis of probable members here.

Say Bye-Bye Wu -
Oregon Democratic Representative David Wu made his resignation official yesterday. Strange behavior coupled with allegations of unwanted sexual advances to a teenage daughter of a campaign donor led his resignation. The governor will set the date of a special election. Politico.com has more here.
