Today, President Barack Obama will appear in a health care town hall meeting in Portsmith, N.H. - about 1800 are expected to attend the town hall meeting to be held at 1:00 PM. The president is expected to discuss how reform will also help those who currently have health care coverage. On Friday, he will travel to Bozeman, Montana to attend another town hall meeting on health care reform. The Washington Post has more here.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues tour of Africa - yesterday she was in the Republic of the Congo discussing trade issues and her concern about death and rape in East Congo. Today, she will be in Abuja, Nigeria and will meet with President Umaru Yar' Adua. The beginning of her trip was overshadowed by her husband Bill Clinton's successful trip to N. Korea, freeing two American Journalists. Reuters.com has more here.

Alaska legislature overturns former Governor Sarah Palin's veto of stimulus funds - it takes a three-fourths vote to overturn a veto by the Governor so it is rarely seen in Alaska. That is, until now. With a vote of 45-14 the legislature voted to accept 28 million in federal aid for energy cost relief. The Anchorage Daily News has more here.

New Quinnipiac poll shows Democrat N.J. Governor Jon Corzine gaining ground - he is now down by 9 points to Republican Chris Christie; 51-42. This state along with Virginia are two states the Republicans are hoping to win Governor races this fall. You can read more details of the poll here.
