Today, President Barack Obama will deliver a speech on the economy - he will deliver the speech in New York City on the one year anniversary of the collapse of the Wall Street firm Lehman Brothers. Early reports indicate the president will discuss the need to cut back on rescue funds to the financial sector and the need for financial regulation reform. ABCNews.com has more here.

Senate health care bill to be released tomorrow - Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chair of the Senate Finance Committee is hopeful their bill will be released tomorrow as Republicans and Democrats on the committee reach agreement. Do not look to see a public option included in the bill and specific language will spell out undocumented aliens will not receive insurance. Politico.com has more here.

Obama to attend fund raiser for Specter - the president will travel to Philadelphia to attend a fundraiser for senator Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) to be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Mayor Nutter and Governor Rendell are also expected to attend. The Philadelphia Daily News has more here.

Repeal of Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) underway in House - in what will surely antagonize certain Republicans, Democratic Representatives are preparing an repeal of the 1996 act which defined marriage as between a man and a woman and limited benefits. Four states have recognized same sex marriages since 1996. TheHill.com has more here.
