George Wenschhof
We are now back online after several weeks of experiencing some technical problems which were further compounded with the cost of fixing them. I have been operating this Democratic news and commentary site for about 11/2 years and viewers now come from all states across the country and from countries around the world.
I will continue to offer the "Daily Democratic Wire" which will list links to columns from different media sources on the political headlines of the day. I will continue to offer brief commentary on each issue. Readers have expressed they enjoy this feature on the site which allows them to read headlines of the stories of the day from multiple sources all located conveniently in one column.
On Saturdays, I will publish a "Week-in Review" summary of the news story from the preceding week. Also on Saturdays we will continue to publish a preview of Sunday's "Talking Heads" guests.
As Frederick, Maryland is my home town, I will be providing more commentary on local issues. Especially on the City of Frederick election which has a deadline for candidate filing of July 7, the primary on September 15, and the general election on November 3.
I plan to interview the candidates live online and to offer a online forum for the Democratic candidates following the filing deadline of July 7.
I also plan to continue to publish commentary from other columnists on a variety of issues of importance.
We will also continuously upgrade our links to media, government, organizations, and Democratic party sites to make it easy for you to access a variety of sources from our site.
I would like to provide add a video component which will allow me to offer even more for your enjoyment. For instance, providing video interviews with the candidates in the city election. You could either watch via a live feed and watch at a later date at your convenience.
I have also identified a polling company that will work with me in providing election projections in the City of Frederick election.
On the technical side, another of the issues we identified that is needed is our own secure server along with some other site upgrades based on the volume of visitors to the site.
All of which requires money to purchase and implement. I have begun some advertising of local businesses and if you own or operate a business, please contact me at georgewenschhof@gmail.com to discuss rates and specials which are available for you.
The other way to raise the needed funds to maintain this Democratic news and commentary site is from you the reader. Donations of any size are welcomed and needed. Whether it is $10, $25, $100, or $1000 - your contribution is very much appreciated and will allow me to continue to devote full time to this endeavor.

As always, I also welcome your suggestions on what you would like to see on the site to make it even better than it is today.
Regardless of the size of your donation, whether it is $10, $25, or $100, it will go toward continuing Democratic news and commentary. Donations are not tax deductible.
