Yesterday, President Barack Obama delivered a speech at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France - It was the 65th anniversary of D-Day. President Obama will return to the U.S. today. ThePage.time.com has the text of his remarks here.

David Plouffe to be campaign manager for Governor Deval Patrick (D-Mass.) - the former campaign manager of President Barack Obama will steer the reelection bid of Deval Patrick. CNN.com has more here. Some may recall a minor flap during the presidential campaign when Obama was accused by some republicans of plagiarizing some statements made previously by Governor Patrick.

Legal arguments continue in Minnesota senate race - it has now been seven months since the election and there is still a vacant seat from Minnesota in the U.S. Senate. The state supreme court is now hearing the case brought by Republican Norm Coleman who continues to dispute Democrat Al Franken won the election. It is looking increasingly unlikely Coleman will win the argument. Politico.com has more here.

Representative Arthur Davis (D-Ala.) to run for Governor - he is the first African-American to run for Governor in Alabama. As a four term congressman, he is favored to win the Democratic primary. One of his major focus points of his campaign will be to create more jobs. TheHill.com has more here.

Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) wants delay in U.S. talks with Cuba - Martinez, who is Cuban-American is concerned with the recent arrest of Walter and Gwendolyn Myers who have been charged with spying for the Cuban government for over twenty years. Politico.com has more here. If we stopped negotiations with every country who has ever conducted any intelligence gathering of the U.S., the remaining field would be very small.
