Obama Stands Firm On Raising Taxes For Upper 2% - in response to the Republican proposal received yesterday, President Obama said the arithmetic does not add up unless there is a increase in taxes for the 2% who earn more than $250,000 annually.  You can read more here.

Will House Republicans Pass Middle Class Tax Extension?  a parliamentary move by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to pass an extension of tax cuts for all but the upper 2% may be receiving support from some Republicans.  The bill was already passed by the Senate.  Even, if the "fiscal cliff" negotiations fail, this would prevent any major damage to the economy.
