On To The Debates - back to back three day national poltical party conventions, televised at prime time, should have awakened voters as the November 6 election nears.  The Democrats had the good fortune of following the Republicans and the magical momentum, a candidate looks for in a campaign, should be on their side following three back to back to back outstanding speeches given by First Lady Michelle Obama, Former President Bll Clinton and President Obama.

However, the country remains divided, so in spite of the enthusiasm edge generated by the Democratic Convention, polling may not change significantly.

Polling conducted three full days following the conclusion of the Democratic Convention will show if a "bounce" did take place for the Obama campaign.  Polling conducted prior to the Democratic Convention showed Romney did not receive a bounce from teh republican Convention with Obama and Romney tied at 46%.

It is likely with such a divisive electorate across the nation, the polling may show a modest bump for Obama, say in the 49%-46% range.  The President has not polled at 50% or above for quite some time.  So, if the polling shows a breakthrough of over 50%, this will spell bad news for the Romney campaign, where Republican and Independent voters are finding it difficult to wrap their arms around him.

Next up to have a major impact on voters is the Presidential and Vice President debates.  A total of four prime time televised debates will take place in the month of October, beginning on October 3.  The Vice President debate will be held on October 11.  The format and dates can be read here.
