This Sunday morning the discussion will focus on immigration reform and the soon to be announced proposal from a bipartisan "Gang of 8" U.S. senators.
Republican Senator Marco Rubio (Fla.), a member of the "Gang of 8", will try to grab the spotlight as he makes the rounds on the morning shows.
However, don't look for Hispanic and Latino community to rally around the proposal, which is rumored to have up to a 13 year pathway to citizenship that includes payments of back taxes, fines, and the requirement to learn English as a second language.
Back in January, I called for a more reasonable approach that included a community service component instead of fines, as back payment of taxes and fines will never encourage undocumented immigrants to come forward. You can read that column here.
Currently, Congress is on a pathway to pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation that will be meaningless and ineffective.
In addition to immigration reform, the Sunday morning shows will discuss the budget process in Congress that continues to illustrate the partisan divide.
With the senate poised to vote on gun violence legislation, Senators Joe Manchin (D- W. Va.) and Pat Toomey (R- Pa.) will appear on CBS "Face The Nation". The two have been credited for reaching a compromise on background checks.
However, as is the case with proposed immigration reform legislation, the gun control legislation has been whittled down to an ineffective and virtually worthless proposal.
The bluster by North Korea and threat of their launching a nuclear ballistic missile should also receive attention Sunday morning.
