Expect a grab bag discussion on Sunday, with topics ranging from gun violence, the recent cabinet nominations by President Obama and the announcement by the President the mission in Afghanistan is changing to one of training and the likelyhood the withdraw of U.S. troops will take place sooner.
Obama has taken heat from Republicans and Democrats on his nominations this week of Chuck Hagel for defense secretary, John Brennan for C.I.A. director and Jack Lew for treasury secretary.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will appear on NBC "Meet the Press" and Richard Haass, president of Council of Foreign Relations appears on ABC "This Week".
Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), a moderate, appears on three of the morning political talk shows after speaking out for the need for legislation banning assault weapons.
Manchin will be joined by former Utah Governor and candidate for the Republican Party nomination for president; Jon Huntsman on ABC "This Week". As, co-chairs of the organization "No Labels", they will discuss whether Republicans and Democrats will ever be able to work together in Washington.
Joining in with the argument for legislation on gun violence is retired General Stanley McChrystal, who became known when he was forced to retire after criticism of President Obama appeared in "The Rolling Stone" - He appears on CBS "Face The Nation".
David Keene, president of the NRA, who wants to arm teachers and provide armed guards at schools, appears on CNN "State of the Union".
