Romney Remains on Top

After last night's New Hampshire debate, Mitt Romney remains on top. None of the other Republican presidential hopefuls managed to say anything to damage front runner Mitt Romney. Instead, the lower tier candidates took turns sniping at one another. The NY Times has more here. They will have another opportunity this morning on NBC "Meet The Press".

It is looking very likely Huntsman will drop out after New Hampshire. Leaving, Santorum, Gingrich and Perry to battle for the "conservative" mantel in S. Carolina. Paul continues to be in his own universe and a stubborn gnat that only serves to stir the already muddied Republican presidential primary.

Leading some to speculate others may also drop out and coalesce around one "conservative" and anti-Romney candidate.

If Romney wins S. Carolina, it is looking like lights out for the other Republican presidential hopefuls.

All of which leaves one pondering; will another Republican enter the race? Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels are two who come quickly to mind. Both would present problems for a Mitt Romney easy path to the Republican Party nomination. Then, there is always Sarah Palin.

NBC "Meet The Press", in joining Facebook, should grab the viewers as they host a Republican Presidential Candidate Debate. The second one in about 12 hours. Both debates coming just days before the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday. Tonight, the GOP candidates square off in an ABC News/Yahoo sponsored debate.

Republican presidential hopefuls Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul also appear separately on the morning shows and Reince Preibus and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who chair the Republican and Democratic National Committees will be on Fox News.

Some interesting discussion should take place on CNN "State of The Union" where House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calf.) will appear along with former N.H. Governor John Sununu who is supporting Mitt Romney.

The "slimming down" of the military will receive discussion on CBS "Face The Nation" and ABC "This Week" has Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod.

CBS "Face The Nation" - Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff; General Martin Dempsey, and Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.)

CNN "State of The Union" - Jon Huntsman, Nancy Pelosi, John Sununu, and Bob Walker.

Fox News Sunday - Reince Priebus, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Ron Paul.

Obama Weekly Address

President Obama touts the newly released economic numbers, pointing to the 200,000 new jobs created last month. He promised to do whatever it takes to continue to improve the economy, in spite of expected obstructionism by Republicans.
