Obama Tied With Three Republican Candidates -
in the latest Washington Post/ABC poll, President Obama is trailing Mitt Romney 48%-46%, and leading Rick perry 49%-46% and even with Chris Cristie 45%-45%. More here.

Senate Moves Forward on Chinese Currency Bill -
the bill will now be voted on this week. It is aimed at pressuring the Chinese government to stop under valuating it's currency. It is unclear if the votes are in the House to pass it. TheHill.com has more here.

Immigration Issue Rears Ugly Head in Alabama -
the latest in the ongoing struggle to come to grips with a sensible nationwide immigration policy. With the Alabama new state law on immigration mostly upheld by a federal district judge, confusion abounds. The NY Times has a good editorial on the issue here.

West Virginia Governor Election Today -
the election the result of former Democratic Governor Joe Manchin being elected to the U.S. Senate. Acting Governor Earl Ray Tomblin is facing Republican Bill Maloney and three independent candidates. The winner will serve the remaining year of Manchin's term. CNN.com has more here.

Democrats had been expecting to easily win this race, but it is now considered to be a close contest.
