No Job Creation in August -
bad news reported by the Labor Department as 68,000 new jobs had been projected. Unemployment stayed at 9.1%. The Washington Post has more here.

This puts even more pressure on President Obama when he delivers his jobs speech to a joint session of Congress next Thursday. The time of the speech has been moved to 7:00 PM ET to avoid a conflict with the start of the NFL season.

Fox News Poll Has Perry in First -
Romney comes in second and Michele Bachmann a distant third with only 4%. The poll also reflects a majority of Republican voters feel Sarah Palin should not run for president. For more on the Fox poll click here.

Federal Housing Finance Agency To Sue 12 Banks -
the dozen big banks are said to include Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase will be sued for misrepresenting the quality of mortgage securities sold at the height of the economic bubble. The NY Times has more here.

the contest for the vacant House seat in New York is now tied according to the latest poll. Republican Bob Turner is tied with Democrat David Weprin with 42%. Weiner resigned after an embarrassing Tweeter incident. TheHill.com has more here.

Libyan Rebels Promise Democracy as Billions Released -
Gaddafi continues to vow to fight as his former billions are being released from world banks to the rebels. Developing a democracy from a tribal run country while repairing and building infrastructure is a huge challenge for the transitional government. Reuters.com has more here.
