President Obama to travel To Tucson -
Tomorrow, he will attend a memorial service in Tucson, arizona for the victims of the weekend shooting. The president will deliver a speech at the service. The Washington Post has more here.

Pawlenty Says He Would Not Have used Crosshairs to Target Democratic Candidates -
in a reference to a posting on Sarah Palin's website. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is among a number of Republicans considering a run for president in 2012. Palin, so far, has not responded to the criticism arising as a result of the tragic shooting in Arizona. The NY Times has more here.

Gun Control Legislation Back on Front Burner -
a contentious issue is back front and center in front of Congress after the tragedy in Arizona. One law, pertaining to the size of magazine which can be used in a gun, such as the one used in the Arizona shooting, had been repealed allowing the alleged shooter to purchase the 33 round clip used. Efforts are already underway to reinstate that law. Politico.com has more here.

Delay Sentenced to 3 Years -
Former Republican house Majority Leader Tom Delay posted bail and stated he intends to appeal the sentenced imposed by the Judge. He received the 3 year sentence as a result of an illegal $190,000 campaign contribution. DeLay also received 10 years of probation on other money laundering charges. TheHill.com has more here.

Biden Says U.S. Not in Afghanistan to Govern -
in a prod to President Hamid Karzai to step up responsibility. Vice President Joe Biden said while gains have been made by American forces, those gains remain fragile and are reversible. Reuters.com has more here.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Yemen -
a hotbed for al Qaeda in the Persian Gulf region. She will be meeting with community and political leaders in addition to a planned meeting with Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. You can read more
