General Stanley McChrystal meets with President Obama -
we should all know shortly the fate of the general. Some are calling for him to be fired for his critical remarks toward the president and vice president appearing in the article in Rolling Stone. President Obama left the door open for him to stay yesterday when he stated to reporters the action he takes will be in the best interest in the security of our nation.

Senator Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) is among Democratic leaders calling for Obama to fire McChrystal. CNN.com has more here.

Interestingly, later today, the top advisers on the Afghanistan war will meet at the white House to discuss strategy. Presumably, McChrystal will attend. The Afghanistan war continues to be a quagmire for the U.S. and little positive results have been accomplished since the surge in troops.

New Orleans Federal Judge blocks ban on deep water drilling -
in response, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deep-water drilling. The White House will also appeal Judge Martin L.C. Feldman's decision. The NY Times has more here.

Haley wins easily in S.C. primary -
no big upsets in the primaries and runoffs held yesterday. Incumbent Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) is the third House incumbent to lose in the primary so far this year as Trey Gowdy easily won their runoff election.

Democrat Elaine Marshall easily beat Cal Cunningham in the North Carolina primary and will face Senator Richard Burr. AP has more on the race here.

Mexico joins federal lawsuit challenging Arizona Immigration law -
claiming policy initiatives per state undermines American foreign policy. Arizona receives 65,000 visitors from Mexico daily who spend 7.35 million per day. First Read has more here.
