Today, President Barack Obama will speak to the nation about the findings of the internal report he ordered on the Christmas Day attempted airliner bombing -
a declassified report will be made public. It is doubtful any additional information will come forward to what has already been reported on the incident. It is painfully obvious much information was known prior to the attempted bombing, but was not shared among intelligence agencies. Time.com has more here.

President Obama approval rating at 50% -
Gallup has his approval going into his second year in office above only one other President going into their second year since they began polling. That President? Ronald Reagan. It is not surprising the approval rating has dropped for Obama. He inherited two wars and a economy in the dumpster. None of which can be resolved in one year. However, to the voters, they are now Obama's problems to solve. Stay tuned as Reagan ended up with favorable ratings. Politico.com has more here.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar considers run for Colorado Governor -
just one day after Governor Rotter announced he would not be running for reelection, Salazar has been given the green light by the White House. Denver mayor John Hickenlooper is another possible Democratic candidate for Governor. The Denver Post has more here.

Democratic Senators Tim Johnson (S.D.) and Maria Cantwell (Wash.) expected to be named committee chairs to replace retiring Senators Chris Dodd (Conn.) and Byron Dorgan (N.D.) -
Johnson is expected to take over the Senate Banking committee and Cantwell, the Indian Affairs committee. TheHill.com has more here.

New Jersey state Senate set to vote on Gay Marriage today -
the vote is expected to be close with passage doubtful. If the state Senate does pass the measure today, it would need to go to the state assembly for a final vote. CNN.com has more here.
