New poll out by Boston Globe shows Coakley up by 15 points in Massachusetts -
recent polls had Republican Scott Brown leading in the special election to be held on January 19 to be the senator to replace the late Ted Kennedy. As a result, democrats have pulled out all the stops as they do not want to lose the seat held for 47 years by Kennedy. Yesterday, President Obama's campaign organization "Organizing for America" sent out a blast email to supporters asking for folks to make phone calls to Massachusetts voters. In addition, former President Bill Clinton and Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) will appear at a campaign rally for Coakley this Friday. Talk about a wake up call!

Net Neutrality Rules under Question -
a federal court recently questioned the authority of the Federal Communication Commission to police the Internet. The case involved Comcast who argued "there were no rules of the road." Net Neutrality has the support of President Obama and depending on the final ruling by the courts, Congress may have to take up legislation in this area. TheHill.com has more here.

Michael Steele likely to survive as Republican National Committee Chair -
in spite of many top GOP operatives opposing him. Anger over Steele accepting paid speaking engagements, releasing a book without telling anyone or his recent statement saying "fire me, get on board, or get out of the way" has risen of late, but political observers expect him to survive. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he is sorry about remarks made during 2008 presidential campaign -
excerpts from a yet to be released book on the 2008 election appearing in The Atlantic prompted Reid to issue his apology pertaining to remarks he made saying Obama was "light skinned and with no Negro dialect". president Obama accepted the apology and said the book was closed. RNC Chair Michael Steele called upon Reid to resign. MSNBC.com has more here.
