Today, Obama is in Ohio - He will attend two town hall meetings and will discuss his new energy proposal. In the morning, he will be at Austintown High School in Youngstown and in the afternoon he will be in Berea at Baldwin Wallace College. Read more here.

New Zogby Poll has McCain in front of Obama 42% to 41% - In a telephone poll conducted from July 31 to August 1, it seems Obama has lost support in many categories: women, younger voters, Independents and Democrats. The undecideds were high at 13% but expected this far out from the election. Read more here. The Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll has it tied at 44% each and when leaners are included, McCain at 47% and Obama at 46% Read more here.

Voter registration shift is away from Republicans - the New York Times has a good read today on how new registration favors democrats over the last several years. The other important fact is registration other than Democratic and Republican continues to rise. This is another indication of voters wanting to see change that may also lead to the emergence of a viable third political party. Read the article here.

Obama right about tire gauge usage being more effective than off-shore oil drilling - Seems that off-shore oil would produce 1% of the demand two decades from now. If everyone properly inflated their tires on their automobiles, demand would be reduced by several percentage points now. So much for Republican jokes. Read more here.

Senator Edward Kennedy tapes video for Democratic Convention - Over the weekend, the Senator taped a five minute video which will be played at the Democratic convention later this month. He recently completed six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment following surgery to remove part of his malignant brain tumor. Read more here.

Senator Hillary Clinton to campaign for Obama in Nevada - Friday, she is to be in Nevada which is now considered one of the swing states. Obama may accompany her. She is also expected to campaign for Obama in Miami, Florida prior to the Democratic convention. Read more here.
